The sessions

How long are the sessions?

Our standard sessions are 30 minutes long. This window includes time for a quick warm-up, plenty of running or walking intervals tailored to your dog’s pace, rest breaks with fresh water, and a cool-down.

How often should I run my dog?

For most healthy dogs, 1 to 3 times a week is the sweet spot. It provides a fantastic physical workout and mental release without overworking their joints.

Do I need to prep my dog before the session?

Yes! Just three simple things!

  • Skip a big meal: Please don’t feed your dog a large meal within 2 hours of their session to prevent an upset stomach.
  • Bathroom break: Give them a quick chance to do their business right before we start. We take care of the rest, providing all the necessary safety gear and fresh water.
  • Clipped nails: Make sure the nails are clipped to prevent long nails from getting caught in between the belt gaps, siderails of the treadmill, or any moving parts.

What can I expect during the session?

Every session is entirely customized to your dog’s comfort level. If it’s their first time, we focus on positive reinforcement, introducing them slowly to the equipment using plenty of praise and encouragement. The treadmill is dog-powered (non-motorized), meaning it only moves when your dog moves. They are always in full control of the speed, and we are right by their side coaching them the entire time.

What can I expect after the session?

Expect a happy, relaxed, and pleasantly tired pup! The mental focus required to run on a treadmill, combined with the physical exercise, does wonders for burning off excess energy. Your dog might take a long nap afterward, sleep better through the night.

How long would it take for my dog to learn to exercise on the treadmill?

Most dogs get the hang of it during their very first session! Because our treadmills are non-motorized, dogs naturally adjust to the machine because it only moves as fast as their own paws take them. While cautious or shy dogs might take 2 or 3 sessions to build total confidence, our positive coaching style helps them feel safe and excited to run in no time.

Safety

What are the requirements to work with my dog?

To keep everyone safe and healthy, we require your dog to be:

  • Up to date on vaccinations: Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella (we require proof of up-to-date vaccinations).
  • Free of injuries: If your dog has a history of joint issues or heart conditions, we just ask for a quick green light from your vet.
  • Generally healthy: No contagious illnesses, coughing, or stomach bugs within the last 48 hours.

Do I need to have a harness for my dog?

Nope, we’ve got you covered! We use professional-grade running harnesses designed to support your dog safely and comfortably while they exercise. However, if your dog already has a custom, well-fitted Y-shaped sport harness that they love, we are happy to take a look and use it if it meets our safety standards.

How are the treadmills cleaned?

Cleanliness and hygiene are top priorities for us. We thoroughly clean and sanitize the treadmill, safety rails, and any used gear between every single dog. We use veterinary-grade, pet-safe disinfectants that kill bacteria and viruses instantly but are completely non-toxic and odorless for the next pup.

Do I need to be home during the session?

For your dog’s very first session, we do require an owner to be present. It helps your dog feel safe and allows us to chat about their goals. For future sessions, many clients take advantage of our “latchkey” service! As long as we have a secure way to access your home (like a lockbox or garage code) and your dog is comfortable with us, you don’t need to change your workday schedule to be there.

Billing

How are payments handled?

We make payments easy and completely digital. You can securely store a card on file through our online booking system, and payment is processed automatically either when you book your appointment or right before the session begins. We accept all major credit cards.

What is the cancellation policy?

We completely understand that life happens! Because we reserve a specific time slot just for your pup, we request at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the session may be subject to a fee (up to 100% of cost of the session).

What is the rescheduling policy?

If you need to move your appointment to a different time or day, you can easily do so through our client portal or by texting us up to 24 hours before your scheduled time at no extra charge. We will always do our absolute best to fit you into our next available opening!
